INTRODUCING OUR SCHOOL
Nineteenth Century Delhi was ruled by the Mughals. The 1857 Revolt, known as the First War of Independence, tore the city of Delhi as under, and most of its buildings and institutions were destroyed in its aftermath. Education was hardly a matter of concern or priority to the oppressed people then and Delhi was steeped in mass illiteracy and ignorance.
It was against this sad and painful background that a small group of enlightened and far- sighted philanthropists who realized the value and importance of education decided to start a school for boys in the heart of old Delhi. Those visionaries were Lala Rommi Mal , Rai Saheb Lala Chhunna mal, Lala Ram Krishan Das, Rai Bahadur Lala Amba Prasad, Rai Saheb Lala Ishwari Prasad, Rai Bahadur Lala Sheo Pershad, Rai Bahadur Dharam Sudhakar and Lala Wazir Singh– all residents of old Delhi.
They called it “Anglo-Sanskrit Vidyalaya”
School Facilities
Physics Lab
The Physics lab at ASVJ is where all the theories taught in class come to life. The lab is provisioned with quality apparatus in sufficient quantities.
Chemistry Lab
The Chemistry lab is well equipped with all the necessary apparatus for various scientific experiments.
Biology Lab
The Biology Lab is equipped with up-to-date specimens, charts, and models to hone the practical skills of the students.
Computer Lab
The school has computer centre with latest generation of computers, dedicated computer teacher and with high speed internet connection.
Library
The school has well stocked library with approx. 7500 books. A large number of magazines and journals are also available.
Art Room
We believe that every child has an artist hidden inside him. The Art Room at ASVJ offers students a room to enhance their creativity and imagination.
NCC Camps
The students have enrolled in both Senior Division and Junior Division NCC wings of ASVJ school for senior students from IX class onwards.
Stage
ASVJ School has a big stage which is used on different occasions. This stage witnesses era before independence and also witness modern India.
Play Ground
The school provides sports facilities to the students. The school has in-house facilities for Badminton, Volley Ball, Kabaddi, Kho Kho & more.
